Paul Hanson

Associate Director

Paul joined Armsons Barlow (formally Barlow and Associates) in 1991 and was promoted to Associate Director in April 2022.

His attention to detail ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Over his time with Barlow’s Paul has performed a number of roles with different clients. Paul is experienced in acting as a Quantity Surveyor, Employer’s Agent, Bank Monitoring Surveyor, Project Manager and Party Wall Surveyor.

Paul has worked directly for Contractors in both Retail and Civil Engineering sectors broadening his skills and experience.  His experience enables him to analyse projects from many angles enabling him to advise the project team on the most suitable solutions from a time, cost and quality perspective.

Hobbies

Paul enjoys the outdoors and walking, which is usually followed by a craft ale!.  

Over the years Paul has enjoyed many hobbies, the most rewarding has been his passion for scuba diving which has resulted in many adventurous dives all around the world.

Paul follows F1 and rugby union.  He is also a keen bird watcher and member of the RSPB, enjoying many nature reserves with his wife and trusty binoculars.

  • Cost Planning / Estimating – experience in producing detailed budgets across a variety of sectors
  • Value Engineering – identifying where costs and specifications can be changed to fall within budget without affecting the overall quality or delivery of the scheme.
  • Procurement / Tendering – practical advice and experience in selecting the most suitable procurement route to meet the client’s requirements
  • Contract Administration – administering JCT Contract including issuing the correct Contractual Notices within the stipulated timeframes
  • Sectors – Retail, Commercial, Sports & Leisure
